My favorite destination in Germany: Berlin

My preferred accommodation: Staying with friends.

A perfect day in Berlin: First I would walk along the Landwehr Canal in Kreuzberg. Then it's time for a visit to one of the many Turkish markets in the city. There's a Stasi museum in Berlin-Lichtenberg that I like to go to. Haus 1, which the museum is located in, is part of the central complex of the Ministry for State Security. In the evening, I'd go to a concert with klezmer music.

I tend to spend my money on: Exhibits, food and going to the movies.

My Tip: Take a wine tour along the Rhine River.

Where I want to visit next: I'd like to go to Lübeck and Travemünde to read Thomas Mann's novel "Buddenbrooks" where it was set -- and to enjoy the cool Baltic Sea breeze.

What I like best about Germany: There are so many cultural events that are accessible to everyone. What I appreciate about Berlin is being able to experience the history of the last century there.
