Greece has asked the German government for assistance in case of a possible terrorist attack during the Olympic games. In mid-January, the German government recieved an official request from Athens for help in the case of a catastrophe, according to the German news magazine Focus. Among other things, the Greek government wanted to know how many "pathologists and specialists for identification of terror victims" Germany could spare for the games, in August. The German State Department passed the request on to the individual states. They have already agreed to send personnel from the German disaster relief organization THW.
