A high speed train derailed in southwestern Germany on Thursday, critically injuring a farmer whose tractor had slipped onto the tracks. None of the 100-130 passengers and personnel were injured when the train hit the tractor. The train was traveling through vineyards on the stretch between Basel, Switzerland and Dortmund, Germany and was presumably moving at 80 kilometers per hour (around 50 mph) at most.
