Historical milestone: VW Scirocco II 16V

The Scirocco II sports coupé came out in 1981 – the first Volkswagen with a 16-valve engine. This technology coaxed 139 horsepower from a 1.8 liter engine. In 8.1 seconds it clocked 100 km/h, with 208 km/h as top speed, challenging the Porsche 924.
