Deutsche Post has been contacted by hundreds of retail stores looking to add post outlets in their shops, company officials told dpa newsagency. The surge in interest comes on the heels of a Post statement that it would be closing smaller post offices and offering its services to rural customers in other places, like supermarkets, grocery stores and gas stations. Currently, there are about 7,200 of the post outlets in place across the country.
