Immigration crisis grows in Italy

Interview: Helen Seeney talks to Megan WilliamsApril 10, 2014

This week, in a period of 48 hours, Italy rescued 4,000 migrants from boats trying to reach European shores. According to the Italian Interior Minister, Angelino Alfano, around 15,000 migrants have been rescued this year. He said between 300,000 and 600,000 people in Libya alone are waiting to board smuggling boats. Megan Williams in Rome told Helen Seeney about the growing immigration crisis.
