Int’l Panel Asks Sri Lanka to Improve Human Rights Record

The International Independent Group of Eminent Persons or IIGEP was set up last year to supervise the functioning of a presidential commission of enquiry into human rights abuses in Sri Lanka. Last month they quit because of lack of cooperation from the authorities. And now the panel has come out with a report which strongly criticizes the Sri Lankan government.
