It has been a bitter battle, but the day of judgement has arrived: The Italians are ready to cast their ballots. All eyes in Europe will be focused on Italy during its general election on April 9 and 10.

The big question is: Will challenger Romano Prodi oust Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi or will the media king hold onto the throne?
