Lower commodity prices costing jobs in South Africa

South African mines are shedding workers in response to falling commodity prices. 3,900 jobs are at stake in the town of Kathu alone. Kathu is home to Kumba Iron Ore, one of the world's biggest open-cast iron mining operations.
