Elfriede Riekhoff is a self-employed midwife from the northern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. She works for up to 16 hours a day. In the mornings she helps to deliver babies at a local hospital. In the afternoons she does home visits. She also has her own practice where she gives advice to young mothers.
