More than 800 Guests from 84 Countries to Attend the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum in Bonn

More than 800 individuals from 84 countries have already signed up to attend the first annual Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum. The event taking place from June 2-4 has therewith already lived up to its name. This year, the international media conference will focus on “Media in Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention”.

Among the guests are 170 journalists from regions that are currently in conflict like Burma, China, Sudan and Zimbabwe, as well as Afghanistan and Iran, Uzbekistan and Israel. A particularly large number of reporters will be coming from African countries and the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum will make Africa an area of focus.

Media representatives and others interested in attending are asked to register for accreditation online at www.dw-world.de/globalmediaforum by May 28, 2008.

The Foundation for International Dialogue of the Savings Bank in Bonn is co-hosting the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum. The conference is also being supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, the State Government of North-Rhine Westphalia, DHL, the city of Bonn, VT Communications, Blatz-heim Networks Telecom and picture alliance.
