Most Germans still do not use the Internet, according to a new survey by the leisure research institute of British American Tobacco. The institute polled 3,000 Germans over the age of 14 about their Internet use and 53 percent said they never went online. Shopping via the Internet is still a niche market in Germany as well, the report revealed: About 70 percent of those surveyed said they had never bought anything online. Seniors are least likely to surf the Web -- only 18 percent use the Internet. Institute officials said that a lack of free time might be the reason why Internet use is still limited in the country. According to the survey, Germans have less than three hours of leisure per day and prefer to spend their time doing sports or going out with friends.
