Mumbai Attacks Continue to Haunt India-Pakistan Peace Process

The trial of Ajmal Kasab, the Pakistani national charged in connection with last November’s attacks on Mumbai, will begin next week, on April 15. The judge told Kasab in a pretrial hearing on Monday that security arrangements had not yet been completed.

The attackers not only killed at least 165 people, they also derailed the peace process between India and Pakistan. New Delhi has suspended the talks and wants to continue them only once Islamabad has dismantled what the Indians call the “infrastructure of terror” in Pakistan.
