An old idea might shortly become true. A huge canal will connect Dead Sea with Red Sea. The Dead Sea is important for the region. For decades, water from the Jordan River has been diverted to the North. Less and less is reaching the Dead Sea. It´s a dramatic situation. A new canal shall be the remedy.
