No Longer Wedded to Marriage

About one out of two Germans wants to get married, according to a survey released on Monday. Of the 20- to 45-year-olds surveyed, 49.4 percent said they wanted to get married. The main reason that respondents gave for marriage was love (54.7 percent) and desire for a family (34.3 percent). The survey was conducted for the women's magazine Lisa. The survey was conducted among a representative sample of 435 people who are 20 to 45 years old.
