No nuclear power plants in Australia

DW readers wrote in to tell us about nuclear energy policy where they live.

Australia has some of the largest reserves of uranium of any country (23% of the world's supply), is geologically stable (unlike poor Japan), and yet not a single nuclear power plant exists here.

-- Andrew Martin, Australia

My country supplies the uranium to some, but what will be the end game in Japan? It must be time to just stop, or is it too late to stop? I believe Germany has led in this issue by saying "cease," as far as our media says so far in Australia anyway.

-- Wayne Martin, Australia
