Pakistan's Election Winners Agree to Co-operate

The European Union has urged Pakistan to move quickly to form a new government and has called for the immediate release of political prisoners. Meanwhile the two major opposition parties have announced that they will work together to shape the new administration in Islamabad. The Pakistan People’s Party and the Muslim League of former premier Narwaz Sharif have also drawn the Awami National Party into their talks in a bid to form a coalition with a broad base of support. Grahame Lucas asked Deutsche Welle’s Thomas Bärthlein in Islamabad what he expected the new government to achieve.
