Poland: Maryja's Media Empire

An arch-Catholic media mogul in Poland is mobilizing millions of people. Tadeusz Rydzyk is a priest, an entrepreneur and the head of a fundamentalist Catholic media empire that includes Radio Maryja.

Rydzyk is the founder, director, CEO and controller of the nationwide radio station Radio Maryja, the Trwam TV station, a newspaper, a foundation and a Catholic media college. His outlets campaign against abortion, homosexuality, feminism, liberalism and the EU. Rydzyk's loyal listeners and viewers see him as a kind of savior. In November 2014 the broadcaster celebrated the 23rd anniversary of its founding.
