Polish mining town becomes green leader

During the Communist period, the coal mines of Katowice became a the heartland of Poland's heavy industry. For decades, the acrid odor of burning coal hung in the air. But there has been a great deal of change since then. New innovation and a rapidly growing green movement are turning this once-sooty town into a sustainable energy hub.
