Pope Benedict has called on the Member States of the United Nations to honour their commitment to protect their people from Human Rights violations. Speaking on the fourth day of his first visit to the United States, the pope also made a plea for COLLECTIVE action to solve global problems. Later on Friday Pope Benedict received a warm welcome by a New York Rabbi, when he became the first leader of the Roman catholic Church to visit a Jewish place of worship in the United States.
