Kraftwerk - a synthesis of audio-visual art

Kraftwerk considers its musical output a work of art -- and art belongs in museums. For years, the band has played in museums around the world -- including a performance at the New National Gallery in Berlin.

HIT-Clip: Kraftwerk - "Die Roboter" (2017)

Last month, Kraftwerk released a live album, "3-D (The Catalogue)", featuring recordings of performances at international art museums. They also come up with a new version of the classic song "The Robots."

HIT-Clip: Kraftwerk - "Tour de France" (2003)

Kraftwerk released their last studio album, "Tour de France Soundtracks," in 2003 -- to mark the 100th anniversary of the famous cycling event. The band members are big fans of the race and cyclists themselves.

HIT-Clip: Kraftwerk - "Musique Non-Stop" (1986)

Kraftwerk's album "Electric Café" came out in 1986. A music video from the album featured complex computer animations of the band members. "Musique Non-Stop" made it to No. 1 on the U-S dance charts.

HIT-Clip: Kraftwerk - "The Model" (1978)

The single "The Model" didn't do well on the charts when it first came out in 1978. But British DJs kept playing it -- and in 1982, the English version of the song topped the UK charts.
