The lakes, forests, gardens and stately homes are not only a magnet for tourists. For landscape painter Olaf Thiede, they provide the inspiration for his work. The Potsdam native is a keen cyclist and showed us around three of his favorite spots in the city: the 19th-century Park Babelsberg with its magnificent views of the River Havel and the city skyline, the restored Baroque-era New Market square and Café Rothenburg.
