German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder ended his summer vacation on Tuesday. A spokesman for the chancellor said he would again begin meetings with other members of the government on Tuesday. Schröder returned to Germany last weekend following a two-week vacation in the Italian coastal resort of Pesaro. This year, Schröder broke off his holidays one time to participate in the 60th anniversary memorial ceremonies in Poland of the Warsaw uprising against the Nazis. On Thursday, Schröder is set to fly to Romania for talks with the government. While there, he is also planning to visit the grave of his father, who was killed during World War II in 1944. On Friday, Schröder is expected to travel to Sofia, Bulgaria.
