Disgraced ex-referee Robert Hoyzer is likely to receive a life ban and a large fine when the German Soccer Federation's (DFB) sports tribunal passes judgement on the man at the center of Germany's escalating match-fixing and betting scandal. The DFB's Committee of Control recommended the toughest possible sanction of a life ban from officiating and a €50,000 ($65,900) fine on Monday, and will now await the tribunal's final verdict, on a date yet to be determined. The 25-year-old, in police detention since Feb. 12, is also likely to face a custodial sentence when his case is heard in a German court.
