Shanghai Airlines have given permission by the Chinese government to fly to Germany. It is the first time one of the country's smaller air carriers has been granted an international long-haul route, the South China Morning Post reported. "We are about to grant (the airline) an operational permit to fly to Germany, probably by the end of the month," the paper quoted an unidentified Chinese Civil Aviation Administration official as saying. "Under the permit, Shanghai Airlines will be allowed to fly to several German cities. The company is looking at hubs with good supporting transportation networks, such as Frankfurt," the newspaper quoted another unidentified official as saying.
