A region in the Czech Republic famed for its spa culture is the West Bohemian spa triangle. It's most well known destination, Karlovy Vary - or Carlsbad - saw 200 spa houses sprout by the end of the 1500s. Marianske Lazne is the youngest of the spas, recognized in 1818.
