Space flight and planetary experts are meeting in Paris for a two-day conference to discuss future plans for Mars exploration. All agree that they want to collect soil samples from the red planet but the upcoming challenge is bringing the Martian rocks back to earth for analysis. A planned joint mission by NASA and European space agency ESA may do just that, and finally tell us if and how life on Mars developed.
