Trade Unions threaten industrial action at Deutsche Welle

Negotiations are currently underway between Deutsche Welle and trade unions representing the staff on pay increases, fees for freelance staff, pensions and the length of the working week.

The trade unions have called for token strikes to press home their demands. In the next few weeks our broadcasts may be interrupted by union pickets. We apologise to our audiences around the world for any inconvience this may cause.
