Speeding into the Holidays - On a High-speed Train from the River Main to the Mediterranean

September 18, 2012

A joint venture between the German railway company, Deutsche Bahn, and the French SNCF is promoting a high-speed link from Frankfurt to Marseille that takes just seven hours and 45 minutes. Those who book early pay just 39 euros for a ticket that would normally cost 142 euros. It's the railways' reaction to the many cheap flights offered by budget airlines, and an attempt to win back customers.
