Just as the European Union expands and adds more stars on its flag, the airline industry is moving eastwards. The Star Alliance pack consisting of Lufthansa, United Airlines and Singapore Airlines, among others, has decided to add LOT Polish Airlines to its illustrious group. The Polish company, which currently flies to over 48 cities worldwide and 12 destinations in Poland, was founded in 1997 and boasts a fleet of 2,000 aircraft. The Star Alliance, which includes 15 different airlines, offers customers a wide-ranging network of interconnected flights and allows frequent fliers to collect miles on any of the participating members.
