Storm Chasers - keeping an eye on extreme weather

We’ve heard of storm chasers from the USA. To get close enough to a tornado they often drive great distances across country, keeping their cameras switched on in the hope of capturing a truly unique photo or video clip. Over the last ten years, the number of people who hunt extreme weather in Germany has also risen.

Although this sounds like just some mad hobby it can in fact be useful for weather research: the more people collecting data on weather the more precise any predictions will be. Tomorrow Today rode along with one team of storm lovers.
