Stuttgart have confirmed that Daniel Ginczek and club captain Christian Gentner have signed new contracts.

30-year old midfielder Gentner has made 275 appearances for Stuttgart since graduating through the club's youth system and has signed a new deal that runs until 2019.

Ginczek, a striker, has extended his contract by a further year until 2020, despite the 25-year old having been out injured since October 2015.

With the club's fate out of their own hands going in to the last round of fixtures this weekend, Stuttgart have confirmed that both player's contracts are valid for the German second division.

In a statement on their website, Stuttgart said "despite the extremly difficult situation ahead of Saturday's match against Wolfsburg, two players have shown a special signal (of loyalty)."

Stuttgart travel to Wolfsburg on the final day of the Bundesliga season sitting two points behind Werder Bremen, who occupy the only relegation play-off spot. Werder, though, face Eintracht Frankfurt who are only a further point ahead in the last safe spot.

Stuttgart have not been relegated from the German first division since the 1974/75 season.
