U.S. teens are undergoing plastic surgery to look better on selfies. Selfies aren’t just an expression of a narcissistic generation – they’re also a testament to the insecurity many people feel.

Selfies have become one of the most important content on social media. Likes, followers and hashtags are the currency of digital natives. The “selfie” hashtag has been used on Instagram more than 217 million times. And every day, more are added. A study by Pew Research Center says that 55 percent of U.S. teens have posted selfies online.
