Electric scooters are growing in popularity. So we've joined up with the German Automobile Club to put them through their paces. We selected seven scooters ranging in price from 1,600 to 3,700 euros. We tested five two-seaters and two single-seaters.

They all have a maximum permitted speed of 45 kmh and can travel between 40 and 100km on a single charge. We tested the engine performance, comfort, safety, ease of use, cost and handling.
