The lead attorney in the retrial of a suspected accomplice to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington was seriously hurt in a motorcycle accident over the weekend, calling into question how his client's court case will proceed. Josef Grässle-Münscher (58) was critically injured when he crashed into a car that was turning in front of him. The trial of his client, Mounir el Motassadeq, is due to resume on Tuesday, when he will be represented by Udo Jacob, his second lawyer. Court spokeswoman Sabine Westphalen said the impact of the lawyer's accident on the trial schedule would then be discussed, the Associated Press reported. Motassadeq is accused of having aided and abetted members of the Hamburg al Qaeda cell who were part of the Sept. 11 attacks.
