EU border restrictions will be lifted later this year to allow the free flow of people from Bulgaria and Romania across the continent. Perhaps predictably the British tabloid press is sounding alarm bells, but as Lars Bevanger writes in this postcard from Manchester, even the British government seems to be in two minds about what to do with the potential influx of Eastern Europeans.
