The Left Party is the largest opposition party in the Bundestag. Parliamentary party leader Gregor Gysi wants to make the party more attractive. European elections, in which all the socialist parties want to present themselves as an alternative, are not far off. The party has reformed itself and is stretching out feelers towards the SPD.
