The show, “Al Bernameg” (in English “The Program”), was a big hit in Egypt before being taken off the air by its military leader. Impressed by his copycat Egyptian act, Jon Stewart invited Youssef to appear on “The Daily Show” and Stewart also appeared on “Al Bernameg”.

Being successful in business, he was the leading man of YUKOS, one of the world’s largest oil producers. Khodorkovsky established the Open Russia Foundation in 2001 to build and strengthen Russia’s civil society.
