Vienna's fake news hunters

Fake news and hate speech are disseminated via social media on a daily basis. Many profit from this anonymous agitation. But two Austrians have taken it upon themselves to expose fake news and hoaxes.

It's hard to find out who is really behind fake news sites. Six years ago, Tom Wannenmacher from Vienna set up "Mimikama" to do just this. He started out working anonymously to expose fake news, hate speech and urban myths. Since 2014, he's been doing it under his real name, alongside colleague Andre Wolf.
