Karen Dequina from Capiz province in the Philippines witnessed Typhoon Haiyan first hand. She says that foreign aid still hasn't arrived in her area, and that it will take months before power is restored.

While aid efforts and international news coverage have focused on the city of Tacloban since Friday's typhoon hit the Philippines, inhabitants of Capiz province are still waiting for international aid to arrive.

As of Wednesday (13.11.2013), some 50 people are reported to have died in the province. 75 are injured and one person is missing according to a report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council there.

Karen Dequina is a 48-year-old accountant from Panit-an in Capiz province. DW spoke to her for the WorldLink program.
