Welcome to eco@africa

December 2, 2016

This week, we meet the Norwegians and Tanzanians fighting to save their environment and way of life. We also check out some amazing art made of recycled glass in Kenya and eco-friendly plates made of leaves.

On this week's show, our hosts Nneota Egbe and Edith Kimani are back with lots of bright environmental ideas from across Africa and Europe.

Norway and Tanzania are worlds away from each other but communities living in both countries are fighting to save their environment and way of life. In Nigeria, forestry schemes could help farmers worried about expanding deserts swallowing their farmland. And in Kenya, a German artist uses recycled glass to make stunning art.

In Germany, we visit an energy-saving smart home, controlled by an app and voice recognition software. And we hear from a company that wants use to switch our plastic plates for tableware made from leaves. You won't want to miss it
