Will Chinese Human Rights Action Plan Change Things?

China recently released its first national human rights action plan. The 54-page document promises Chinese citizens better living conditions, better legal protection and greater political rights. The two-year plan coincides with the 20th anniversary of pro-democracy protests onBeijing’s Tiananmen Square, which were brutally crushed by the military on June 4, 1989.
