Wolfsburg have reached their third Women's Champions League final after a 4-1 aggregate win against European champions FFC Frankfurt and will meet Lyon in the final.

Despite losing 1-0 on Sunday, the Wolves progressed to their third final in four years following a 4-0 first leg win against last season's tournament winners.

Wolfsburg, second in the Bundesliga, became the first German side to defend the trophy, winning the title in 2013 and 2014.

Every Champions League final since 2008 has featured a German team, with Bundesliga sides going on to win the tournament nine times in the last 14 years.

French champions Lyon beat PSG 7-0 in the first leg and secured their place in the final with a 1-0 second leg win on Monday.
