PM Ponta Berusaha Lumpuhkan Basescu

Di Rumania sengketa antara pemerintahan sosial liberal di bawah PM Ponta dengan Presiden Basescu meruncing. Koalisi pemerintahan akan mengajukan proses impeachment terhadap Basescu.

Partai-partai pemerintah di Rumania menyepakati melakukan proses impeachment terhadap Presiden Traian Basescu dari jabatannya. Ketua parlemen Rumania Valeriu Zgonea melaporkan bahwa dalam sebuah sidang istimewa Kamis (05/07) dan Jumat (06/07) parlemen akan membahas pengajuan dakwaan resmi terhadap Basescu.

Jika mayoritas anggota parlemen menyetujuinya, ini berarti Basescu harus segera menon-aktifkan jabatannya. Namun akhirnya dalam sebuah referendum yang digelar paling lambat 30 hari kemudian, rakyat Rumania yang akan memutuskan apakah presiden Rumania itu harus berhenti dari jabatannya.

Baru satu hari sebelumnya koalisi liberal-sosial di bawah PM Victor Ponta mencopot ketua senat dan parlemen Rumania dari jabatannya.Dalam sebuah pidato televisi, Presiden Basescu meminta koalisi sosial liberal yang memerintah sejak Mei lalu "untuk segera menghentikan serangan-serangannya terhadap institusi-institusi pemerintah".
