自1979年伊朗伊斯蘭革命以來,美國和伊朗兩國國家元首第一次進行了直接對話:美國總統歐巴馬透露,他與伊朗總統魯哈尼(Hassan Rohani)通了電話。在這段歷史性的談話中,雙方就備受爭議的伊朗核計劃交換了意見。歐巴馬表示對全面解決衝突抱有信心。不過目前還存在一些「重大的障礙」。據悉,關於伊朗核問題的國際談判將於10月中旬在日內瓦繼續。
