Shrimps Coktail of Globalization

Samut Sakhon, Thailand: My pictures show migrant workers from Myanmar in Samut Sakhon, Thailand, where they work in the seafood processing industry. Many of them have left their home country because of its constant economic crisis and the human rights violations of the military government. However, just a few crossed the Thai border with documentation. This makes them an easy target for slave labor and other abuse. Bribed Thai authorities are often accomplices in these crimes. The seafood processed by these workers is later exported to Western markets.
