A believer in the old fashioned power of radio

Negash Mohammed joined DW's Amharic service in 1999 after first coming to DW from Ethiopia in 1996 for vocational training. Since he was a child, he has believed in the power of the media to connect people and improve their lives - especially through radio. Bringing people in his native Addis Ababa independent and trustworthy information, Negash believes that DW represents the values of democracy, human rights and civil society. At DW's Amharic service he considers these aspects everyday when choosing the news that will benefit his audience the most.
