World Press Freedom Day is a day to remember that journalists in many countries brave death or face jail to inform the public - and that freedom of the press and freedom of expression are fundamental human rights.

World Press Freedom Day is a day  to focus on the state of press freedom around the world.

In two-thirds of the world's countries, press freedom is not guaranteed.

DW has spoken with several experts on the issue, in addition to covering world developments.
