Hundreds of thousands of guests are expected to attend the event between September 11-13. The festivities kick off with the arrival of the "Costa Neoromantica". Landlubbers can enjoy festivities that include a harbor festival that features art shows, sport, culinary delights and music. They can also find out about vacation trips and career opportunities on board an ocean liner. Fireworks will light up the skies in the evening.

The Hamburg Cruise Days parade will take place the following evening. Fireworks will accompany the departure of three cruise ships as they make their way down the river Elbe, accompanied by a fleet of tug boats.

The absolute highlight will be the arrival of "Queen Mary 2" on Sunday. For the first time she is not going to drop anchor at Hafencity but at the brand new terminal at Steinwerder. A shuttle-service will be at disposal.

Hamburg welcomes some 525,000 cruise ship passengers every year. Seatrade Europe, a top trade fair for the cruise ship industry, will be held in Hamburg for the first time from September 9-11.

The Hamburg Cruise Days were founded in 2008 to promote ocean cruises.
