When she is not on-screen, she is generally rushing around the building with a bunch of papers and tapes in her hands, producing the German music show, PopXport or Shift, the internet news programme.

Prior to this, Anne anchored DW’s main daily news programme Journal, fronting extensive live coverage on international news and sports stories for three years. She has interviewed a wide variety of guests including former Belgian Prime Minister and Member of the European Parliament, Guy Verhofstadt and President of the World Health Summit in Berlin, Detlef Ganten.

Anne hails from Mayo in the west of Ireland and moved to Dublin when she was 18 to study languages at Trinity College. She then headed abroad to work and intern in media stations in Berlin, Rome and New York before returning to Ireland to graduate in 2008 with an Honours Degree in the Management of Media Production awarded through Dublin City University.

Bitten by the media bug, she then started working on Irish national radio as a traffic and travel reporter before making the move to TV in 2009 as a news correspondent for the daily youth entertainment show Two Tube.

In her free time, Anne reports on Germany and Europe for Associated Reporters Abroad (ARA). Otherwise she likes to get out and about in the German capital, checking out the latest photography exhibitions and outdoor movies in the summer, albeit dosed in insect repellent. She also loves travelling, painting, cinema and yoga! As a keen linguist, she likes learning new languages and speaks German and Italian.
